This 1-out-of-2 (1oo2) architecture ensures that the system satisfies the rigorous requirements of Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3) and Performance Level e (PLe). To function correctly, the 1756-LSP must reside in the slot immediately adjacent to the primary controller, effectively consuming two chassis slots as a synchronized safety pair.
