The Allen-Bradley 1785-V40V functions as a high-performance bridge between VMEbus systems and PLC-5 control logic. This processor specifically targets industrial computer environments requiring IEEE 1014-1987 standard compliance. Unlike traditional modular controllers, this unit operates within a 6U VME chassis. It occupies two physical slots while delivering full Programmable Logic Controller capabilities. The hardware allows standard industrial computers to execute complex ladder logic seamlessly.

Processing Power and Memory

This VME processor features 48K words of internal SRAM for program storage and data handling. It manages extensive I/O configurations including up to 1920 digital and 1920 analog points. Consequently, the module supports large-scale automation tasks and sophisticated data processing. The system architecture supports multi-processor configurations within a single chassis. Users can install up to eight units to increase total processing bandwidth.

Communication and Network Versatility
